Ontario Moves to Step Three of Reopening Plan

Based on the provincewide vaccination rate and continuing improvements in key public health and health system indicators, the Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is moving the province into Step Three of its Roadmap to Reopen plan on Friday, July 16, 2021. It will remain in Step Three for at least 21 days to evaluate any impacts on key public health and health system indicators.

Customer Service Hours 

Customer Service will be closed on Thursday, July 1 for Canada Day and available again by phone on Friday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, roads, parks or recreation facilities, please call 905-478-4282, and press option 3.

EG's Book Fairies are coming to Town!

The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) has partnered with the East Gwillimbury Public Library, Scholastic Canada and our EG Fairies to bring a special surprise to EG residents on Friday, June 25. Residents can visit parks and trails in our community beginning at noon to find free books hidden throughout our open spaces. 

Park visitors can keep the book they've found and enjoy with their family and friends! Please take one book, so others in our community can join in the fun as well!

Road Closure - Yonge St. June 29 to 30

Yonge St. will be closed from June 29 at 7 p.m. to June 30 at 7 p.m. between Holland Landing Rd. and Mount Albert Rd. to allow Metrolinx to complete rail crossing repairs. Due to the increasing numbers of the Lymantria Dispar Dispar (LDD/ Gypsy Moth) within East Gwillimbury, the Town will be doing a free burlap giveaway at the EGPL - Holland Landing Library Branch (HLLB), beginning Tuesday, June 15, while supplies last.

Pick-up is available during their hours of operation:

  • Tuesday & Thursday -  3 to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Friday & Saturday - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents can come to the front door of the HLLB during these hours and pick up burlap (1 per person). A staff...
