June is Recreation and Park Month (JRPM)

June is Recreation and Parks Month

June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. East Gwillimbury (EG) and communities across Ontario have embraced JRPM to promote local events, parks, and facilities for everyone to enjoy!

JRPM celebrates and promotes the importance of Ontario's unique parks and recreation services. Parks and recreation play an essential role in individual, community, and environmental well-being.

Here are some great ways to stay active this summer!

  • Ride your bike or rollerblade along one of our scenic trails . Make sure to wear your helmet!
  • Enjoy an afternoon getting some steps in at the East Gwillimbury Farmers' Market (EGFM). For more information on the EGFM, please visit the Farmers' Market page.

JRPM is coordinated by Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO). With COVID-19 measures in place, PRO has come up with activity ideas to celebrate the month at home. Check out PRO's website for more activities for you and your family to try at home!
