Notice of Complete Application and Public Meeting
The Town of East Gwillimbury has received and deemed the following development applications complete and scheduled a public meeting for July 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. The application proposes the development of a 13-storey purpose-built rental apartment building comprising 142 residential units, with four levels of above-grade parking and nine residential storeys above. Smoke and CO Alarm Program
Every year EG Fire and Emergency Service (EGFES) conducts the annual Smoke and CO alarm program, which runs until October. The EGFES team will test all smoke alarms and CO alarms to make sure they are in good working condition and answer any other fire related questions you have. This program is free and available to all EG residents. Want to have your home tested? Learn more or book an appointment at eastgwillimbury.ca/SmokeAlarms.

Fill By-law Update
East Gwillimbury is working on an updated Site Alteration and Fill By-law. An updated by-law is required to ensure the by-law is current, aligned with Ministries regulations and includes best practices. Learn more about the proposed changes or share your feedback at eastgwillimbury.ca/FillBylaw.

Fire Burn Permit
Summertime means more outdoor fires. Don’t forget to obtain a burn permit. Before purchasing a permit, ensure your property meets the approved requirements.

  • The fire pit must be 10 metres (32.8 feet) away from any building, structure, hedge, fence constructed of material that may burn or melt, or any obstruction of any kind whatsoever that may burn or melt. 
  • The fire can be one cubic meter (3 feet) in size and there must be a way of putting out the fire, easily accessible, always. 
  • Fires are permitted half an hour prior to sunrise, half an hour after sunset.
  • You must have a readily available means of extinguishing the fire.

Music Nights presented by TD
TD Music Nights are back for 2025! Join us on Tuesday, July 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. for the Bianca Rollo Band! This band is an energetic 4-piece Top 40 band with a great mix of all genres across the decades! Enjoy delicious food from Smash N Grab Burger Co, and cool down with a drink from Little Beasts Brewing Co.

Georgina Island First Nation Flag Raising
Join us on July 10 at 1 p.m. at the EG Civic Centre in Council Chambers for the Georgina Island First Nation Flag Raising. Meet us outside at the Civic Centre flagpole for a smudging ceremony. Then, we will move inside to Council Chambers for the flag Raising. This event will be livestreamed on our Facebook page.
