Common Program Questions and Answers

 Shorts Icon What to Wear
  • Proper bathing attire means clothing used for swimming only. Bathing attire must be:
    • Clean
    • Colourfast
    • Light-weight (no dry fit materials)
  • Used for swimming only (no clothing that has been worn outside of the aquatic facility. No street clothes or undergarments)
  • Participants who are not toilet-trained must wear swim diapers. Regular disposable or cloth diapers are not permitted.
  • Outdoor shoes are not permitted in the changerooms or on the pool deck. Hallway space is available to store outdoor shoes.
  • Bring a towel and goggles (if preferred). We have all other equipment including Personal Flotation Devices (PFD), flippers, kickboards, etc,.
 Changeroom Icon Changerooms

Men’s and Women’s changerooms are available with showers as well as universal washrooms.

Children ages six or older must use the appropriate changerooms and washrooms.

 Viewing Area Icon Designated Viewing Area

Swimming lessons can be observed from the designated area of the pool deck. The pool deck is accessed through the changerooms. One spectator per participant is permitted. Indoor footwear is required on the pool deck.

*Please Note: Spectators should dress appropriately as the pool deck is warm and humid.

 Rules Icon Pool Rules

  • Photos and videos: To minimize distractions and protect the privacy of participants, photos/videos may only be taken on Guardian’s Day. Taking photos/videos in changerooms is prohibited.
  • Showering: All swimmers must shower thoroughly with soap and water before entering the pool. We recommend showing before the start of lessons to ensure swimmers are prepared to be in the water. Showers are available in all changerooms.
  • Food and beverages: Are not permitted on the pool deck or in the changerooms. Participants are welcome to eat in the hall and are reminded to be mindful of their garbage and leaving food after eating.
  • Outdoor Shoes: Outdoor shoes are not permitted in the changerooms or on the pool deck. There is hallway space available to store outdoor shoes.
  • Strollers: Strollers are not permitted in the changerooms or on the pool deck.
  • Personal Belongings: Please ensure your personal items are stored in a safe place. The facility does not have lockers for personal belongings. The Town of East Gwillimbury is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW) in July is the Lifesaving Society’s annual drowning prevention awareness event. Thank you to everyone who visited the Recreation booth at the Farmers Market in 2024. We look forward to this new annual event to promote water safety in our community.
