A look back

CWC  – June 24, 2025, 2 p.m. 
EG’s Integrity Commissioner presented their 2024 Annual Report and shared a report on an Updated Council/Committee Code of Conduct.

Development Services (DS) shared a report on Green Earth Village Allocation and Southlake support.  
DS shared a report on repealing a Heritage Designation for 574 Green Lane East.

DS shared a report on an application for a Communications Tower at 19442 2nd Concession.

DS shared a memo on a proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning Bylaw Amendment for 1402-1410 Mount Albert Road.

Parks, Recreation and Culture shared a memo on Parks Capital and New Development Project Update. 

Council – 6 p.m.
Corporate Services shared a presentation on the Town’s Asset Management Plan.

Several minutes and recommendations appeared on the agenda.

Several public meetings regarding development in EG took place during the Council meeting.  

The next meetings of CWC and Council will take place in July.

Civic Centre Closure

Aquatics in EG
Interested in Aquatics? EG has various programs to get certified and involved! Learn more about our Splash and Save program to get certified as a National Lifeguard or Swim Instructor and join team EG, while saving on certification fees! Our Aquatics First Training Program is designed to support adults in obtaining the certifications needed to become a lifeguard or swim instructor. Temporary Cooling Centres
It’s hot outside! When a heat warning alert is in effect, EG has facilities and amenities for you to visit to shelter from extreme weather conditions. Find a facility at eastgwillimbury.ca/Facilities.

Get ready to move, play, and connect— various memberships are available now for use at all East Gwillimbury recreation facilities and at the brand-new Health and Active Living Plaza when it opens!

Artisan and Farmers Market
Join us every Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre for the East Gwillimbury Artisan and Farmers Market! Shop local, visit special event themed market days, enjoy the outdoors, indulge in tasty treats and delicious food, and much more! Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/FarmersMarket.

Summer of Parks
Join us this summer for another round of various park and trail openings throughout town! This season, we’re celebrating the completion of new pickleball and beach volleyball courts, playground equipment and the Simcoe Trail. Join us on July 1 at 6 p.m. for the grand opening of the Mount Albert Lions Community Centre Beach Volleyball Courts! (5087 Mount Albert Road). To find a park or trail near you or to learn more about the opening celebrations this summer, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/Parks.

Canada Day
Join us on July 1 for Canada Day at the Mount Albert Lions Community Centre from 6 to 10 p.m. for a fantastic firework show! Enjoy fun activities, live music and delicious food with treats to enjoy.
Due to limited parking, YRT shuttle service will be available for attendees from the following Town facilities:

  • Holland Landing Community Centre (19513 Yonge Street, Holland Landing)
  • East Gwillimbury Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Road, Sharon)
  • Ross Family Complex (19300 Centre Street, Mount Albert)
  • Mount Albert Community Centre (53 Main Street, Mount Albert)

Shuttles are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Pick up starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 10:30 p.m. Learn more and find the full schedule at eastgwillimbury.ca/CanadaDay.

Music Nights presented by TD

Business Foundations – Earn an Innovation York Certificate of Completion!
Ready to launch a new business idea or refresh your existing business? Join the Business Foundations program from York University’s YSpace starting Tuesday, June 24, 2025

Every Tuesday evening through to August 26, gain expert insights and hands-on workshops to build, grow, and scale your business confidently.

Upcoming sessions include Validating Your Business Idea, Purpose-Driven Business Planning, Organizing Your Business, Reaching Your Ideal Customers, Mastering AI Automation, and more.

Individuals who attend at least six out of the nine workshops will receive an Innovation York Certificate of Completion.
