Committee of the Whole Council (CWC) – September 10, 2025 – 10 a.m.
The Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee brought forward a report recommending funding for the 2026 Lunar New Year event in EG.
Draft 2026 Business Plans were shared by the Town and Library.
Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) brought forward a report on an Events Strategy for EG.

The Finance department will bring forward a report outlining the 2026 Budget Development, including principles and timelines.
Development Services department will bring forward a report on the Revised Sign By-law.
They will also bring forward a report on an application for a telecommunications tower at Bathurst Street and South Road.
A Planning Branch report for a Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment for 21383 Woodbine avenue appears on the agenda.
EPW will bring forward a report on the Town’s Support for New Regional Policies for Multi-Use Path Ownership and Maintenance.

Radial Line Trail Extension
Construction has started on the Radial Line Trail Extension. This project involves building a formalized trail connection between the existing Radial Line Trail and the Nokiidaa trailhead parking lot located at 1000 Green Lane East. Calling all Canadian artists! EG is looking for art in Carnaby Park (80 Alvin Pegg Drive). Are you a professional, Canadian artist? Your art could be featured in EG!
The proposed artwork should explore themes that:

Newcomer Welcome Week
The EG Newcomer Welcoming Week Celebration: Family Fun and Info Event is a free event open to all York Region residents to celebrate diversity, welcome newcomers, and host an engaging evening of family-friendly activities. The event will highlight this year’s York Region Newcomer Welcoming Week theme, Stories We Share, by featuring book readings, food, performances, and traditional knowledge sharing that are rooted in a diversity of cultures.
