Yard Waste
Yard waste collection takes place every other week. Place yard waste in compostable bags or open top containers (labelled as yard waste) with the rest of your collection bins. The last day for yard waste collection for 2025 is the week of December 8. Help keep our roads safe and clear, and do not sweep, push or blow leaves onto the road. This can cause potential storm drain flooding. Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/Waste

Recycling Updates
Effective, December 31, 2025, East Gwillimbury’s recycling pick-up will transition to a provincial program, run by its contractor Circular Materials. As part of the transition, new 360-litre recycling carts are being delivered to homes this week. Please do not use these carts until January 2026.

The Town has received questions and feedback regarding this new provincial program. The N6 Mayors are actively advocating on residents’ behalf for a smaller cart option and better communications. Details will be shared once available.

If you have questions regarding this program, please contact Circular Materials at:

Information regarding this transition is also available on our website at eastgwillimbury.ca/Recycling.
