A Look Back 
Budget Deliberations – November 12, 2025 – 9 a.m. 

Budget Committee reviewed the operating and capital budgets for all Town departments. You can learn more or provide your feedback online at eastgwillimbury.ca/Budget.

The next budget meetings will occur at 9 a.m. on November 19 and 26, 2025. Agendas for these meetings will be available at eastgwillimbury.ca/Agendas

A Look Ahead
Committee of the Whole Council (CWC) – November 18, 2025 – 2 p.m.

The Water and Wastewater Financial Plan and Rate Study 2025, which was deferred from the November 4, 2025 CWC meeting, will be presented. Development Services has a report involving the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment for 31 Sand Road. Review the report here.

Development Services have a report requesting Council include a Draft Built Heritage Strategy in the 2026 Budget. 

There will be two updates about the Health and Active Living Plaza. One will focus on the grand opening celebration, and the other is a construction and budget update.

Recycling Updates
Effective, December 31, 2025, East Gwillimbury’s recycling pick-up will transition to a provincial program, run by its contractor Circular Materials. As part of the transition, new 360-litre recycling carts are being delivered to homes this week. Please do not use these carts until January 2026.

The Town has received questions and feedback regarding this new provincial program. The N6 Mayors are actively advocating on residents’ behalf for a smaller cart option and better communications. Details will be shared once available.

Santa Claus Parade Road Closure
There is a temporary road closure on Leslie Street, between Judah Doan Way and Mount Albert Road and Mount Albert Road, between Leslie Street and Colonel Wayling Boulevard. The parade begins at Mount Albert Road and Leslie Street (19000 Leslie Street in front of the Civic Centre) and ends at the Sports Complex. Please note that roads close at 2:30 p.m. and will reopen once the parade is over. Find a map of the parade route and learn more on our website

Make the holidays a little brighter this holiday season for those in need. Donations of unexpired, non-perishable food items, gift cards, new unwrapped toys, toiletries, and more are being collected from November 16 to December 12 at:

Snow Clearing Assistance Program
East Gwillimbury is offering a Snow Removal Financial Assistance program to help seniors and residents with disabilities cover snow removal costs during winter. Eligible residents who hire a service provider to remove snow from their driveways and/or walkways over the 2025 to 2026 winter season will be eligible for a $150 financial grant. 75 grants will be available for this program. Ready to Make a Splash in Leadership?
EG is partnering with YRDSB to offer Healthy Living and Aquatics Activities, a hybrid aquatics leadership course designed to help students gain valuable water safety, teamwork, and leadership skills!
This semester-long course runs from February 15 to May 28 at the Health and Active Living Plaza and will earn you:

  • One Secondary School credit – Healthy Living and Aquatic Activities (PAQ2O)
  • Lifesaving Society's Bronze Medallion
  • Lifesaving Society's Bronze Cross
  • Lifesaving Society's Standard First Aid with CPR-C

Whether you're looking to become a lifeguard, swim instructor, or just grow your leadership potential - this is your chance!

Active EG Memberships
Are you interested in memberships in EG? What do you get with an Active EG Membership? We have the answers for you! Active EG Memberships include unlimited access to drop-in programs at all Town recreation facilities, including the Health and Active Living Plaza! With monthly and annual memberships, you have unlimited drop-in program access to either:

  • Aquatics
  • Gym/Fitness (excluding Matrix of Motion)
  • Group Fitness
  • Skating

Memberships are not required to participate in drop-in programs. If you would like to join drop-in programs, regular drop-in rates still apply.

New Catholic School Public Information Session
Join the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) on Wednesday, November 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Elementary School (19112 2nd Concession, Holland Landing) to discuss the proposed attendance boundaries for the new Unnamed Queensville Catholic elementary school, scheduled to open in September 2027.

Residents are invited to share ideas, provide feedback and learn more about the boundary study during the drop-in session. Board staff will be available to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. Please visit the YCDSB website for details.
