Respectful Public Spaces
The Town of East Gwillimbury is committed to keeping public spaces safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone. Public conduct within the town, in our offices, at events or meetings and online (while engaging with our channels) is expected to reflect the values of courtesy, inclusivity, and mutual respect. All individuals are expected to act responsibly, follow municipal by-laws, and treat public spaces and one another with consideration. We strive to keep the Town’s public spaces safe and free from abusive behaviour, harassment and intimidation.

EG’s Respectful Public Spaces Policy outlines expectations for courteous behaviour and helps prevent conduct that disrupts services, threatens safety, or interferes with enjoyment of shared spaces. By treating one another with respect, we help ensure Town facilities, services, and programs remain accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for doing your part to support a positive EG. View the Respectful Public Spaces Policy.

Find and Fix Water Leaks
It’s Fix a Leak Week! Here are some tips to keep in mind when dealing with potential leaks:

Tips to find and fix water leaks:

  • Check your water bill: Usage over 45 cubic metres (45,000 litres) per month for a family of four may indicate a serious leak
  • Listen for drips or running water: In some cases, leaks can be heard before they are seen
  • Look for drips and puddles: Check under sinks, tub spouts, toilets, dishwashers, washing machines and outdoor taps. Some leaks may be fixed by tightening pipe joints
  • Replace worn toilet flappers: Old or damaged flappers can cause ongoing leaks
  • Replace faucet aerators: Install WaterSense-labelled models where possible
  • Test your toilet: Add a toilet dye tab to the tank. If the water in the bowl changes colour after five minutes, there is a leak
