Upcoming Public Meetings

Two public meetings will be held on June 23 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre.

Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA.26.04) and Site Plan (SPA.26.04) for applications by Humphries Planning Group Inc. for Manor Hampton Street and Sharon Creek Drive Applications propose to change the zoning of the property to “Residential Four (R4)” with site-specific standards. The rezoning will support the applicant’s Site Plan Control application, which proposes 35 townhouses contained in three development blocks. Learn more on the application webpage

Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA.26.03) and Site Plan (SPA.26.01) for applications by Sharon Sharonvit Estates Inc for the properties located at 1-9 Kiteley Crescent
The application has been submitted to rezone the subject lands from the “Residential (R2-3)” Zone to a site-specific “Residential (R4)” Zone to permit the development of 16 three-storey townhouse units on a private lane. The subject lands form part of Phase 2 of an existing registered plan of subdivision (65M-4576). The proposed development includes two blocks of townhouses flanking a central north-south private lane with a single access from Kiteley Crescent. A concurrent Site Plan Control application has been submitted in support of the proposed development. Learn more on the application webpage

Canada Day Hours 
The Civic Centre will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, for Canada Day. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, or roads, please call 905-478-4282 and press option 3. To view facility hours, please visit eastgwillimbury.ca/Holidays.

Know Before You Park 
EG’s parking rules help keep roads safe and accessible for everyone. Parking on Town roads is limited to three hours, with an exemption period from 7 to 11 p.m. Overnight parking is not permitted between 2 and 6 a.m. unless an on-street parking permit has been approved or purchased. Permits are valid from midnight to 11:59 p.m.. Whether you're visiting friends, hosting guests, or parking near your home, understanding the rules can help you avoid a ticket and support safer neighbourhood streets.

Notice of Construction: Leslie Street (Holborn Road to Ravenshoe Road)
York Region is improving steel beam guiderails at various locations along Leslie Street in EG, from Holborn Road to Ravenshoe Road. This work involves removing, repairing, or replacing guiderails to ensure they meet current standards and enhance safety by providing a protective barrier between the roadway and potential hazards. Construction is scheduled for June 2026 and will take place Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Travellers may experience minor disruptions, work is weather-dependent. 

Notice of Construction: Leslie Street (Ward Avenue to Mount Albert Road)
York Region will be resurfacing Leslie Street between Ward Avenue and Mount Albert Road and repairing or replacing roadside curbs from June to July. While no major service disruptions are expected, travellers may experience lane reductions Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the work.

Pride and NIHM Community Celebration
Join us on June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Health and Active Living Plaza (HALP) for the Pride and National Indigenous History Month (NIHM) event in partnership with the East Gwillimbury Public Library (EGPL). Join us for a full day of activities celebrating the cultures, arts and stories of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and Indigenous Peoples, and their intersections. The event includes:

Canada Day 
Save the date to celebrate! The countdown is on to Canada Day in EG with a soccer twist. Join us on July 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Mount Albert Lions Community Centre (5057 Mount Albert Rd.) for live music, activities provided by East Gwillimbury Soccer Club, food, a vendor market and fireworks. All attendees are encouraged to wear a jersey representing their favourite team or home country!
