EG Mourns the Discovery of 751 Unmarked Graves at Former Residential School in Saskatchewan

On behalf of East Gwillimbury Council and our residents, I extend our condolences to the Indigenous Communities following the recent discovery of 751 unmarked graves on the grounds of a former residential school in Saskatchewan. With this so closely following the discovery of 215 Indigenous children buried on the grounds of a residential school in Kamloops, the trauma and pain continues for our Indigenous Peoples and their pain is being felt around the world.

Road construction

Notice of Road Work

Surface treatment road work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 28 at the following locations in #EG:

  • Boag Road from Woodbine Avenue to Warden Avenue
  • Catering Road from Warden Avenue to Ravenshoe Road
  • Centre Street from Herald Road to Cupples Farm Lane

Road work is expected to be completed within five days, weather permitting. Surface treatment involves the application of liquid asphalt and stone to existing surface treated roads. Please email Customer Service if you have any questions.

East Gwillimbury (EG) has officially launched the new Advantage EG Economic Development website. The website was given a comprehensive update over the last year to better reflect all that EG has to offer to new investors and growing businesses.

The overall styling of the site compliments the new EG municipal website that was launched in May, and was built with a focus on three key audiences, with the goal of connecting them to information they need quickly and easily.
