Blue Box Changes
Changes are coming to recycling programs across Ontario. Starting December 31, 2025, recycling will no longer be collected by the Town and will instead be collected by Circular Materials. Throughout November and December, a recycling cart will be delivered to your home by Circular Material’s contractor, GFL.  
  
What does this mean for you? Visit circularmaterials.ca/east-gwillimbury for more information about the new carts, including how to use them, what materials are accepted, when to set them out, and other program details.  
  
Please do not begin using your cart until the new recycling collection program begins on January 6, 2026.

In 2024 and 2025, we heard from residents, community partners, and event organizers about what makes East Gwillimbury’s events special — and how we can continue to make them even better. We’re excited to share the Draft Event Strategy, which outlines a vision and direction for community events in East Gwillimbury over the coming years. Now it’s your turn to review the draft and share your thoughts before it’s finalized. 2025 Final Property Taxes and Water Due
Final property tax payments are due October 31 along with the October water bill. Payments can be made at your bank, using online/phone banking, through a pre-authorized payment plan or through our online portal. If you have not received a bill, residents are encouraged to contact the Town for their account balance prior to the due date. Find all the details at eastgwillimbury.ca/PropertyTax.

Canada Post Labour Disruption
We are actively monitoring the Canada Post Labour disruption. Please note that property owners and tenants are still responsible for making property tax and water and wastewater payments on time.
How do I get my bill if Canada Post is on strike?

• Residents are encouraged to sign up for e-billing or register for online account access to view a PDF copy of their property tax and water bills.

We will continue to update residents as the disruption continues through social channels and the Town’s website.

Remembrance Day Ceremony
Each year on Remembrance Day we gather as a community to honour the men and women that made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. This year, please join us on November 11 at 10:40 a.m. outside the Civic Centre on the front lawn where our Cenotaph is located as we honour our heroes. This event is outdoors.
