Recycling Changes
Across Ontario, the recycling program is changing. Instead of municipalities managing recycling, the Province has privatized recycling through a not-for-profit called Circular Materials. Effective December 31, 2025, the Town is no longer responsible for or involved in the recycling program.

What does this mean for you? New 360 litre recycling carts are being delivered to all homes in EG this month. Please do not begin using your cart until the new recycling program begins in January 2026. In the new year, recycling collection will change to bi-weekly collection. Other enhancements include a larger list of recyclable items! Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/Recycling.

To learn more about the provincial recycling program, visit circularmaterials.ca/east-gwillimbury.

For questions about recycling, contact GFL at n6recycling@gflenv.com.

Parking Reminders
Colder weather is approaching, and we want to remind you about winter parking in EG!

  • There is a year round-round parking limit of three hours on any road and no parking on roads between 2 and 6 a.m.
  • Submit a Parking Consideration form if parking is needed on the road for more than three hours at eastgwillimbury.ca/ParkingConsideration.
  • To help reduce unsafe fumes and protect the environment, EG has a no-idling by-law. Please be sure to turn off your vehicle when parked
  • If you are having overnight guests, be sure to submit a parking consideration form ahead of time online at eastgwillimbury.ca/ParkingPermit
  • During a cold weather event, ensure vehicles don't overhang onto sidewalks or roads and there is no on-street parking
  • No overnight parking at facilities is permitted

Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/Parking.

We Want your Feedback on our Events Strategy
In 2024 and 2025, we heard from residents, community partners, and event organizers about what makes EG’s events special — and how we can continue to make them even better. We’re excited to share the Draft Events Strategy, which outlines a vision and direction for future community events in EG. Now it’s your turn to review the draft and share your thoughts before it’s finalized. Email your feedback to EGEvents@eastgwillimbury.ca by December 19, 2025. Your input will help shape the future of community events in EG! Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/EventsStrategy.
