Upcoming Council Meetings

The next Council Meetings will be on February 21. The Committee of the Whole (CWC) meeting will be at 2 p.m. and Council at 6 p.m. A few topics you may be interested in are:

CWC Meeting:

  • Staff from the Town of Newmarket will present their Automated Speed Enforcement for EG's consideration
  • Learn more about EG’s municipal projects and accomplishments in the 2023 Strategic Plan Annual Report presentation
  • Complete Communities Secondary Plan – EG is undergoing a planning process to help identify what land uses will be allowed. An introductory presentation will be made by the Town’s consultant, outlining options for consideration. To learn more and see a list of impacted lands visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/secondaryplan.

Council Meeting:
There will be two public meetings. You can attend in-person at the Civic Centre or virtually to provide feedback:

  •  A Zoning By-law Amendment application for 17743 McCowan Road. The application proposed to permit a fitness facility within an existing barn.
  • A Zoning By-law Amendment application for 18363 Leslie Street. The application proposes to permit a variety of Employment uses, including warehouse, office, commercial and warehouse uses in three buildings.

The Town is seeking public feedback on the Draft Tree Protection By-law. The proposed draft by-law will protect the existing tree canopy on private property to ensure the preservation of natural heritage areas throughout the Town. Residents are invited to review the draft by-law and provide feedback at the upcoming Public Open House:
