Vacant Building Registry By-law
Council has approved a one-year pilot Vacant Building Registry By-law to help better monitor and manage vacant buildings, improve neighbourhood safety, and reduce issues such as property deterioration, vandalism, graffiti, and unauthorized access.

The new by-law requires owners of buildings that have been vacant for more than 90 days to register with the Town, obtain an annual permit, and meet ongoing property maintenance and monitoring requirements. The one-year pilot will help the Town evaluate the program's effectiveness before considering long-term implementation.

Visit eastgwillimbury.ca/VacantBuildingBylaw to learn more about the Vacant Building Registry By-law, including owner requirements, exemptions, and how to register.
