Civic Centre Closure

Notice of Construction - Yonge Street
The next phase is starting on Yonge Street from Davis Drive to Green Lane in the Town of Newmarket and Town of East Gwillimbury to widen the road from four to six lanes and improve comfort and safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The projects anticipated completion is late 2027. Learn more at york.ca.

Temporary Road Closure - Mount Albert Road
Starting Wednesday, August 13, Mount Albert Road at Highway 48 in the Town of East Gwillimbury will be closed to through traffic for approximately nine weeks as Ontario Transportation completes bridge and intersection work.

  • Local traffic only between McCowan Road and Highway 48
  • Westbound traffic will be restricted to northbound or southbound turns at Highway 48, with no through traffic permitted
  • Eastbound traffic on Mount Albert Road at Highway 48 is restricted
  • Southbound Highway 48 at Mount Albert Road remains open
  • Northbound Highway 48 at Mount Albert Road no westbound turns permitted
  • Signs will be in place to guide travellers
