East Gwillimbury (EG) is proud to celebrate Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month (NIHM) this June with a series of vibrant and inclusive events that honour diversity, support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and Indigenous Peoples, and promote inclusion and equity for all.

Join EG at the following events:

Pride Flag Raising – June 5, 2025, at 1 p.m.

The flag will fly throughout the month at the EG Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street) as a symbol of the Town’s commitment to inclusion and equity.

Notice of Construction - Warden Avenue from north of Davis Drive to south of Ravenshoe Road

Construction will take place on Warden Avenue from north of Davis Drive to south of Ravenshoe Road in the Town of East Gwillimbury.

Description:

  • Initial work will consist of concrete repairs and adjustments to maintenance holes and catch basins
  • When this initial work is complete, a road preservation treatment, called microsurfacing, will be applied
  • Microsurfacing is a common and cost-effective way to maintain roads with minor defects and extend the life of the road

Duration:

Late spring to summer

  • Lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction at all times on Highway 11 from Morning Sideroad to Bathurst Street
  • Crews are reconstructing Highway 11, removing the centre median and constructing a retaining wall to support the multi-use path
  • Long-term lane closures are necessary to accommodate construction and provide safe conditions for crews and motorists
  • This work is part of road reconstruction on Highway 11 from Green Lane to the Bradford Boundary
