Project Update: York Durham Line Bridges
Work continues on the replacement of Bridges 113 and 114 on York Durham Line. Scheduling conflicts and challenges controlling water levels onsite have impacted progress, leading to a new anticipated completion of fall 2026.
The contractor worked through the winter to keep things moving, and both the Town of East Gwillimbury and the Township of Uxbridge are actively supporting efforts to safely and efficiently complete the project.
We understand the inconvenience these closures have caused and appreciate your continued patience as safety remains the top priority.

Emergency Preparedness Week
Are you prepared in case of an emergency? EG Fire and Emergency Service is recognizing Emergency Preparedness Week (May 3 to 9), which encourages residents to take concrete actions to protect themselves and their homes during emergencies. By taking a few simple steps, you can become better prepared to face a range of emergencies – anytime, anywhere. It is important to:
Know the risks – Although the consequences of disasters can be similar, knowing the risks specific to our community and our region can help you better prepare.
Make a plan – It will help you and your family know what to do during emergencies.
Get an emergency kit – During an emergency, we will all need some basic supplies like non-perishable food, bottled water and first aid kit. Kits should include items that can help you for at least 72 hours in an emergency.
