Canada Day Closure
The Civic Centre will be closed on Friday, June 30 for the Canada Day holiday and will reopen Monday, July 3. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, or roads, please call 905-478-4282 and press option 3. Happy Canada Day!

Summer Mosquito Control Underway
Throughout the summer until August 31, contractors will be spraying Town spaces like parks and trails to limit mosquitoes and to make these spaces more enjoyable for all. For tips on managing mosquitoes at home, visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/mosquito

Have you tried Grasscycling?
In EG, grass clippings are not collected at the curb. Consider grasscycling: recycling grass clippings by leaving them on the lawn after mowing which:

  • Reduces the need to water the lawn as often and the need for fertilizer
  • Holds moisture and adds nitrogen
  • Prevents the growth of thatch
  • Saves money, time and effort

Limited quantities of grass clippings can be dropped off at the Bloomington Rd. Yard Waste Depot (1351 Bloomington Rd., Richmond Hill). Fees apply.

Notice of Earthworks
Beginning in late June, Tricap Properties will be conducting earthworks on the property located on the southwest corner of the 2nd Concession and Mount Albert Road. Work will include the installation of a silt fence, construction of a temporary sedimentation control pond, and construction activities to support servicing.

Construction on Kennedy Road
Kennedy Road will be closed from Mount Albert Road to Doane Road from July 4 to October 3, 2023 for a bridge replacement. Work will occur on weekdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more at www.york.ca/RoadConstruction

Youth and Community Initiative Funds
EG’s Youth and Community Initiatives Fund has funding available from the 2022-23 funding year. The Grant Funding program offers grants to not-for profit organizations and schools, whose program work support EG. Learn more or apply by June 30, 2023 at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/YCIF
