February 10 Meetings Highlights
2026 Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake – A representative from the Southlake Health Foundation presented an update to Council on the 2026 run/walk taking place on April 26, 2026. Last year, Team EG raised $38,251 as part of the Mayor’s Challenge to help support patient care at Southlake Health. Registration is open, visit runforsouthlake.ca for details.
King Street All Way Stop – Staff presented the results of the King Street East traffic operations review, which looked at traffic volume, speed studies, and the use of all-way stops to improve traffic safety. The results of the review recommend the installation of an all-way stop at the intersection of King Street East and Viscount Way/Hammill Heights. View the report for more information.

20337 Leslie Street – Alexander Planning Inc Join on Tuesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. at the EG Civic Centre to give feedback on the Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan applications to address the properties current split-zoning and to support the ongoing use of the site.
19061, 19071 and 19083 Leslie Street – Thorstone Consulting Services Join on Tuesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. at the EG Civic Centre to give feedback on the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to develop two mixed-use buildings on the consolidated property.
Meetings are held in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre located at 19000 Leslie Street.
The agenda for these meetings will be available at noon on the Thursday before the meeting at eastgwillimbury.ca/Agendas.

Upcoming Public Meetings - Engage with EG
The community is invited to learn more about both projects, ask questions and share thoughts and ideas at the upcoming open house sessions for:
Official Plan (OP) Review and Complete Communities Secondary Plan
Tuesday, February 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the EG Operations Centre (19850 Woodbine Avenue). EG’s Official Plan was adopted in 2022. However, it has been updated to align with the Provincial Planning Statement, which was updated in 2024, and EG’s Complete Communities Secondary Plan. Residents are welcome to attend the open house to learn more about the changes.
Thinking Green Development Standards (TGDS)
Thursday, February 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the EG Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street). Join the project team to review the proposed TGDS for new developments and share ideas on the project. The TGDS outline the Town’s sustainability expectations and encourages new developments to be environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically sustainable.

Enhance EG Yonge Street Revitalization Construction Update
The Enhanced EG Yonge Street Revitalization project is transitioning to a single phase, scheduled for completion by late August 2026. For the remainder of the project, traffic controls will remain in place. Road closures will take place throughout the project as needed. Signage will be in place to guide travellers.
Work includes construction of multi-use paths, road resurfacing, sidewalk connections, watermain and storm sewer installation and culvert rehabilitation.
Local access to all properties within the work zone, including homes and businesses, the Holland Landing Fire Station and the Holland Landing Community Centre and Library, will be maintained during construction.

Mosquito Control Program
Weather permitting, from mid-March to late May, the biological larvicide VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation] will be applied by helicopter to select standing water mosquito breeding habitats within EG. View the treatment areas at eastgwillimbury.ca/Mosquito.
This product contains B.t.i., which is specific to mosquito larvae. Mortality results occur within 24 hours; the larvicide biodegrades within 72 hours. Youth Support Fund Financial Assistance
Every child deserves the chance to participate in recreation and sport programs. East Gwillimbury’s Youth Support Fund helps local families access programs for youth under 19, removing financial barriers so kids can play, grow, and thrive. We are calling all professional Canadian artists to apply to feature their art in EG! Submit an art piece proposal for consideration in Carnaby Park located in the community of Queensville by April 30, 2026, at 3 p.m.
