Winter Parking Reminders
Winter is here in EG which means winter parking rules are in effect! Remember:

  • Do not park on the street during snow clearing operations. When parked, vehicles should d not overhang onto the street or sidewalk
  • Parking Consideration Forms are not valid during a winter weather event
  • There is a year-round three-hour parking limit on all Town roads unless otherwise posted . Vehicles parked on the street longer than three hours are subject to fines
  • Vehicles can not be parked on the street between 2 and 6 a.m. year-round
  • EG’s Holiday Parking Exemption period takes place from December 24 to January 1. During that time, By-law Enforcement will not ticket vehicles parked for more than three consecutive hours or between 2 to 6 a.m.

Vehicles that don’t follow the above rules may be subject to fines. Visit eastgwillimbury.ca/Parking to learn more about parking in EG.

Coyote Mating Season
Coyote mating season is approaching and residents who live or walk near their habitats and wooded areas should take extra care. Residents are reminded to be cautious and:

  • Pick up small children and dogs
  • Never run from or turn their back on a coyote - slowly back away
  • Carry a flashlight at night
  • Keep trash cans covered
  • Keep pets on a leash during walks and indoors at night or enclosed in kennels
  • Keep cats indoors. Letting cats roam can draw coyotes into the area
  • Do not leave leftover food or garbage in public or private outdoor spaces

Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/Coyotes or report a coyote sighting at https://www.coyotewatchcanada.com/site/Report.
