Easter Holiday Hours
The Civic Centre will be closed on Friday, April 3, for Good Friday and on Monday, April 6, for the Easter holiday. If you have an emergency regarding water, sewers, or roads, please call 905-478-4282 and press option 3. View facility holiday hours of operation and activities on our Holidays page.
Good Friday Waste Collection
Waste collection on Friday, April 3, will be moved to Saturday, April 4, due to Good Friday. Download the Recycle Coach app today so you’ll never miss important waste collection updates! 2026 Property Taxes
Did you know residents can register to access tax bills online via the Town’s online portal? This safe and secure online portal will allow residents to view account balances, view previous bills and receive bills via email. The 2026 interim tax bill installment due date is April 30, 2026. 2026 Municipal Elections Notice of Nomination
Thinking of running in the 2026 Municipal or School Board Elections? Nominations to run for East Gwillimbury council open May 1 and close August 21 at 2 p.m. (Nomination Day). Book an appointment with Election Services to file and submit the required forms and fees. Remember you can’t raise or spend campaign funds until you’re officially registered. Report Sod Damage Online
The snow is melting, and spring is here! Now that we can see grass again… have you noticed it’s missing in some places? Although every effort is made not to damage sod beside roads or sidewalks, this can happen. Don’t worry – sod repair begins in mid-April! If you’ve noticed some damage caused by the plow, report it online on our Service Request page.

Easter Bunny Hike
Join us this Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mount Albert Community Centre (53 Main Street) for our annual Easter Bunny Hike. Every-bunny can enjoy:
This is an outdoor event and is rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Parking is not available at the Mount Albert Community Centre, please plan ahead or carpool.

Easter Weekend Drop-in Programs
Looking for something to do over the Easter weekend? Bring your family and friends to the EG Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Road) and the Health and Active Living Plaza (HALP) for a variety of drop‑in programs. Enjoy public swims including an Easter egg hunt in the water, fitness drop‑ins like pilates and tai chi, and public skating. Learn more on our drop-in page.
Register for Spring Programs
There’s still time to register for our spring programs. Try out a new hobby, level up a skill, get fit, learn new recipes, practice your aquatic skills, and have fun in your community. We offer various programs from dance, cooking classes, private family swimming lessons, fitness programs and more.

Temporary Road Closure - Ravenshoe Road
Beginning Monday, April 6, at 7 a.m., Ravenshoe Road at Kennedy Road will be closed to through traffic to complete urgent repairs to a failed culvert crossing . Temporary road closures are required to complete this work, and access to homes will be maintained. Construction is expected to take five days. Learn more at york.ca.
