Road Closure - Kennedy Road in East Gwillimbury

 Kennedy Road from Mount Albert Road to Doane Road will be open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, following a road closure to accommodate the replacement of a bridge.

While the majority of work is complete, construction crews will need to return for final work requiring a lane closure in the coming months. York Region will provide notification when the dates are confirmed.

The project is in the advance construction phase to prepare for road widening in 2025.

Description:

• Large hydro poles will be installed on Yonge Street between Davis Drive and Green Lane
• Road closures are necessary due to hydro poles’ size, height and weight and to safely accommodate work and travellers
• This work is part of utility relocations for road widening to accommodate growth and provide more travel options

Igniting Change: Unveiling the Top Three Fire Risks in East Gwillimbury's Neighbourhoods

East Gwillimbury is fired up! Fire and Emergency Services (FES) launched the Community Risk Assessment (CRA) which identifies the top three causes of fire within each of the eight communities in East Gwillimbury.

The data collected from the CRA is used to assess current risks within each community and make informed decisions about the level and type of fire protection services needed. Knowing these risks can help FES develop the right fire safety programs and public education activities.
