Construction Notice - Mount Albert Road and Leslie Street

The construction activity at the Civic Centre and the intersection at Leslie Street and Mount Albert Road continues.

The construction will result in lane restrictions and traffic delays. There will be traffic control persons and paid duty officers present during working hours to assist with traffic control.  It is anticipated that this work will take approximately two weeks. Access to the Civic Centre front entrance will be maintained through a single, traffic-controlled lane.

Seasonal road weight limits in effect

Beginning on Wednesday, March 1, seasonal load restrictions will be in effect.

Commercial vehicles or trailers with a weight above five tonnes or 11,000 pounds per axle will be prohibited on roads where restriction signage is posted and on all truck routes identified as restricted. These restrictions also apply to all non-truck routes.

East Gwillimbury Council, at their meeting held on February 23, approved the 2023 Business Plan and Budget which reflects a total budget increase of 5.55%.

The approved budget includes a 2.8% tax levy increase to maintain existing programs and services and an additional 2.75% increase for dedicated services and additional staffing.
