EG facilities reopening to the public on Monday, January 31, 2022

On January 5, the Civic Centre was closed to public access due to increasing COVID-19 cases. These steps were aligned with the Town’s risk-based decision-making framework that considers provincial regulations and Public Health direction.

Towns of Georgina and East Gwillimbury receive provincial funding for joint fire services assessment

Money is part of Province of Ontario’s Municipal Modernization Program.

The Town of Georgina and the Town of East Gwillimbury have received $356,160 to complete a joint fire services assessment. Weather Advisory - Monday, January 17

The Town of East Gwillimbury is expecting approximately 25 cm of snow and windy conditions tomorrow (Monday, January 17). To assist our road crews with snow clearing operations, please do not park or push snow on roads.

Residents are asked to check weather and road conditions before travelling and to give snowplows room. Visit our Snow Clearing page for more information.

Road Closure - York Durham Line

Due to safety concerns with the bridge across the Mount Albert Creek, York/Durham Regional Rd. #30 will be closed on Thursday, January 20 until bridge repairs are completed. The closure takes place north of Durham Reg. Rd. 39 in the Township of Uxbridge and north of Queensville Sideroad and south of Holborn Road in East Gwillimbury. A map of the detour route is below, and access to homes will be maintained throughout the closure.
