Temporary Road Closure: Yonge Street
As part of the final work in the Holland Landing Yonge Street Revitalization project, the Town is completing grinding, base repair, and paving work on Yonge Street between Mount Albert Road and Dutch Settlers Court. There will be temporary road and lane closures on weekdays only between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from October 16 to 22, the road will be open every night. Work will occur in sections to minimize impacts to residents. Access to the Holland Landing Community Centre and Library (19513 Yonge Street) including the advance voting polls will be maintained throughout construction.

Work will be completed in two stages, beginning with the section between Mount Albert Road and approximately 100 metres north of the railway tracks, followed by the section between Mount Albert Road and Dutch Settlers Court. Local traffic will be maintained throughout construction, and signage will be in place to help guide motorists. Thank you for your patience as we continue making improvements to Yonge Street! For project updates and more information, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/YongeStreetRevitalization.

Property Taxes are Due
The final installment of 2026 property taxes is due October 29. Payments can be made at your bank, using online/phone banking, through a pre-authorized payment plan or through our online portal. Final bills were mailed in June; not receiving a tax bill does not exempt property owners from payment deadlines, interest charges, or applicable late fees.

Soldiers Bay Redevelopment Project is Now Complete
East Gwillimbury (EG) is pleased to announce the completion of the Soldiers Bay (82 Queensville Sideroad West) Redevelopment Project. Developed in partnership with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), the project features shoreline restoration and environmental improvements designed to support a healthier ecosystem. LSRCA and Georgina Island First Nation also played a key role in developing educational signage that highlights the cultural and environmental significance of the Holland River and surrounding area.

Improvements include:
  • Installation of an elevated boardwalk along the shoreline
  • Installation of a floating dock equipped with an accessible canoe/kayak lift to support inclusive, non-motorized recreational boating opportunities
  • Construction of a new asphalt parking lot to improve site access
  • Shoreline restoration and stabilization, drainage improvements, and native plantings
  • Installation of educational and interpretive signage
We invite residents and visitors to explore the revitalized waterfront, connect with the area's natural and cultural heritage, and experience all that Soldiers Bay has to offer this fall. For more information on park improvements, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/ParksProjects.
