Christmas Tree Collection
Christmas tree collection will take place on your collection day from January 10 to 13, 2023. Please remove all decorations, nails, tree stands, and plastic tree bags. Please ensure that trees are easily accessible, crews will not dig or climb a snow bank to retrieve a tree.

Cold Weather Response for Residents Experiencing Homelessness
York Region has established temporary support and housing for residents experiencing homelessness during a Cold Weather Alert. If you need assistance during a Cold Weather Alert, please call York Region’s Emergency Housing Central Intake Line at 1-877-464-9675 ext. 76140.

Winter Camps, Programs and Drop-Ins
Not sure what to this winter break? EG has exciting winter camps, programs and drop-ins for children, adults, older adults and families. Be sure to check out our programs like:

  • Arts and crafts and family drop-ins
  • Winter Break Camp (January 2 to 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • Pickleball, basketball and volleyball drop-ins
  • Public skating
  • February PA Day Camp and March Break Camp

Winter Parking Reminders
Winter weather is here. During winter weather residents are asked to:

  • Not park on the street when it’s snowing to allow access for snow clearing operations
  • Follow the three-hour parking limit and do not park on roads overnight from 2 to 6 a.m.
  • Ensure vehicles do not overhang onto sidewalks or roads when parked
