Council Workshop Highlights

From September 15, 2021

Council participated in a workshop regarding municipal servicing for condominiums. Staff provided an overview of municipal servicing including water quality, waste management, road maintenance, wastewater and stormwater systems and the servicing pilot that is currently underway. Information was also shared about the types of condominiums, the current inventory of condominiums, and planned condominium developments in EG. A Staff Report is expected to go to Council by the end of the year to formalize a municipal serving policy for condominiums for water quality, waste management and road maintenance.

Mayor and Council Charity Golf Tournament

On behalf of East Gwillimbury Council I extend sincere thanks and appreciation to all the sponsors and participants of the 2021 EG Mayor & Council Annual Charity Golf Tournament held on Tuesday, September 14.

As a result of your generosity, approximately $55,000 was raised for the Youth & Community Initiatives Fund (YCIF). These funds will benefit youth in our community who need  financial assistance with recreational activities.

As you know the charity selected to receive the proceeds from the Mayor’s Putting Challenge was Inn From The Cold. The proceeds raised were matched by the YCIF and a total of $5,000 was presented to Darren Doner of Inn From The Cold.

A special thanks to our Golf Committee, Pheasant Run Golf Course and the volunteers who worked hard organizing this wonderful tournament.

Our huge thanks to you! See you next year!

Stay safe and healthy!

Mayor Virginia Hackson
