A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 6 p.m. to discuss the zoning by-law amendments to the Woodbine Avenue development. Read more here.

Spring Maintenance Update

Spring Half Load Restrictions - Following favourable spring weather conditions, the Town’s seasonal half load restrictions will be lifted on May 2, 2022.

Yard Waste Collection - Yard waste collection has started. Please organize yard waste in reusable containers, paper yard waste bags or bundles of brush. Grass clippings or yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected. For more information and the schedule, visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/YardWaste

Street Sweeping - Sweeping of Town roads and curbs began May 2 and will take approximately two weeks to complete. Residents are advised not to park on the roads during this time and refrain from putting waste, recycling or debris on the road for collection.

LDD Burlap Pick-up for caterpillars
Residents can pick-up one piece of free pre-cut burlap wrap per household at various locations across EG while supplies last. Pick-up locations during regular operating hours are:

  • The Civic Centre
  • Holland Landing and Mount Albert Libraries

Community Clean Up
EG is organizing community clean-up kits for residents interested in picking up litter and debris. We will provide you with an EG tote bag, biodegradable garbage bags and disposable gloves. If interested, email mhemmingway@eastgwillimbury.ca

No Mow May
The Environmental Advisory Committee asks residents to help support pollinators this spring and avoid mowing lawns until June. It prevents the disturbance of insects and amphibians that may be burrowed or hiding in leaves and lawns and increases food sources for pollinators. Learn more at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/NoMowMay
