Easter Holiday Closures

Good Friday Waste Collection
Waste collection that is scheduled for Friday, April 7 will be moved to Saturday, April 8 due to Good Friday.

Upcoming Statutory Public Meeting
Acorn Properties is seeking to develop 65 three-storey townhouses at 18490 and 18508 Leslie Street. In total, four townhouse blocks are proposed across the two properties with an internal private road. Join the public meeting on April 18 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at the EG Civic Centre to have your say. Reports of Bird Flu
Animal Services has reported cases of deceased and infected geese with presumed avian influenza (H5N1), also known as bird flu. If you see dead or ill geese, please do not touch the birds. Report sick or injured geese by calling 1-877-979-PAWS. Residents are asked to remove birdfeeders or birdbaths and keep cats indoors to limit transmission of the virus. Coyote Mating Season
Early April is coyote mating season and residents who live or walk near coyote habitats should take extra care. Avoid letting pets out unattended for long periods (even in backyards), keep dogs on a leash when walking and keep cats indoors. Learn more at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Coyotes

Mosquito Control Program
The mosquito control program is the application of biological larvicide VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation] which will be applied by helicopter to select standing water mosquito breeding habitats within East Gwillimbury. This program is weather dependent and is scheduled to begin in April. View the treatment areas at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Mosquito. This product contains B.t.i., which is specific to mosquito larvae. Mortality results within 24 hours; the larvicide biodegrades within 72 hours.
