Walk-in Vaccination Appointments Available

As of Wednesday, July 21, York Region COVID-19 vaccination clinics will accept first and second dose walk-ins for all eligible individuals who live, work or attend school in York Region. To see a list of clinic locations and eligibility requirements, visit www.york.ca/COVID19Vaccine

Share Your Fall Photos With Us

Do you have fall photos from around EG? We want to see the wonderful moments you have getting active within our community. Your photos can be included in EG’s Fall Health and Active Living Guide. Submit your photos by email to our Communications Team or by Facebook Messenger at @TownofEastGwillimbury. The last day to email submissions is August 12.

Return to Ice Programs

Sharpen your skates EG! Public skating programs will take place Monday to Friday from August 3 to September 3 at the EG Sports Complex. Residents can register for Public Skating, Parent and Tot Skate, Adult Shinny and Hockey Clinics. For more information, visit our skating page.

Outdoor Adult Fitness

EG has many recreational fitness programs for adults all summer long! You can register as you go and try out numerous programs like Barre Strength, Bootcamps, Core and More, EG Running Club and HITT the Playground! To view programs available and their schedules, visit our Drop In Programs page.

Bell Expanding Internet Access in EG

As part of the accelerated capital investment program, Bell is expanding its high-speed Internet services to approximately 5,000 locations in EG by the end of 2021. This program will provide fast and high-capacity 100% fibre connections to even more residents with Internet download speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps. For more information, visit our Broadband in EG page.

Yonge Street Improvements

Utility relocation has started on Yonge Street as part of the Yonge Street Improvement project. From July 26 to September there may lane reductions during off-peak times from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between Davis Drive and Green Lane. This week the sidewalk on the west side of Yonge Street between Green Lane and Green Lane Centre will be closed. There are no bus stop relocations at this time. Road construction will start in the fall of 2021.For updates and information about impacts to travellers, or to learn more about this project, visit www.york.ca/yongestreet

Trailer Hide & Seek - Have you seen Emergency and Community Safety Services’ new fire education trailer around EG? From July 23 to August 2, the trailer will be hidden at different locations through EG. Spot the trailer and learn two fire safety messages on it, email our Fire Department with the messages and location to win a prize!

Back to School Jitters - On August 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., join this workshop to learn how to reduce stress and manage jitters about heading back to school. This free virtual program is open to individuals ages 12 to 17 years old. The last day to register is August 18. Visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/ireg and use code 8384 to register.

James Anglican Church Food Pantry - Open every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon, located at 18804 Leslie Street. Residents can drop in to the food pantry for assistance, if you require clothing, please call 905-478-1959 to make arrangements for pick-up.

EG Food Pantry - July 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holland Landing Community Centre.
