Upcoming Council Meetings
- September 9 - The final Council Meeting of the 2022 to 2026 Term of Council will be held at 6 p.m.
Meetings are held in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre located at 19000 Leslie Street. The agenda for this meeting will be available at noon on the Thursday before the meeting at eastgwillimbury.ca/Agendas.

Anchor Park Pickleball Courts Now Open
Do you have pickleball fever? EG is here to cure it with the completion of the Anchor Park (88 Doane Road) outdoor pickleball courts!
Whether you're a seasoned player or looking to try Canada's fastest-growing sport for the first time, these new courts provide the perfect place to get active, connect with neighbours, and enjoy the outdoors. Grab your paddle, gather some friends, and serve up some fun this season!

Watermain Replacement and Upgrade Program
EG will be updating and replacing aging watermains in the following areas beginning August 24:
- Mount Albert Road (Charles Street to 75m east of William Street)
- Charles Street (Mount Albert Road to Jennifer Crescent)
- Howard Avenue (Mount Albert Road to Morton Avenue)
- William Street (Mount Albert Road to Morton Avenue)
- Morton Avenue (Charles Street to east end)
Work will also include a new sidewalk and drainage improvements in the project area. It is anticipated to be completed by mid-2027. Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/InfrastructureProjects
Property Taxes are Due
Reminder, the first installment of the final property tax bills are due! The final bills were mailed in June 2026. Avoid missing a payment and register for pre-authorized payments. Please note that not receiving a tax bill does not exempt property owners from payment deadlines or applicable late fees.
Payment Due Dates:
- First installment: August 27
- Second installment: October 29

Silver Screamers Movie Screening
Lights, camera, action! EG is excited to share an exclusive screening of the documentary Silver Screamers. Open to anyone 16+, get your tickets now for the screening taking place on September 23 at 1 p.m. at SilverCity Newmarket (18195 Yonge Street).
Silver Screamers is a documentary that follows a group of spirited seniors as they embark on an extraordinary adventure far outside their comfort zones: making a horror film.

Book Birthday Parties in ActiveNet
We're making it simpler than ever to book your birthday celebration in EG. We've changed how birthday parties are booked. Birthday parties will now be reserved through ActiveNet, just like other recreation programs. Available party dates and times will be posted seasonally, and you can use your ActiveNet account to reserve your preferred time slot.
This new registration process is for skating, sports, arts, or playground parties. Aquatics parties will still be booked using the Birthday Party Request Form. For more information, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/BirthdayParty.

The time has come! Fall and Winter registration is now open for residents! Non-residents can register starting at 8:30 a.m. on August 27. Notice of Night Work: Yonge Street
York Region will be conducting nighttime watermain installation work across the Yonge Street and Green Lane intersection as part of York Region’s Yonge Street widening project. Nightly lane reductions will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. until September 7, with traffic on both Yonge Street and Green Lane reduced to one lane in each direction. Left turns will remain available, and access to homes, businesses and local properties will be maintained throughout the construction period. Curbside Giveaways
Are you looking to declutter, reduce waste, and give unwanted household items a second life? York Region residents can place unwanted items at the curb labelled “FREE” for neighbours and community members to take at no cost. Any items not claimed must be brought back inside by the end of the day. Participants are encouraged to clearly label giveaway items, keep non-giveaway items away from the curb to avoid confusion, and only take items marked free. Visit york.ca/Bindicator for information on how to donate, recycle, or properly dispose of any remaining items.
