The Town of East Gwillimbury is calling on its youngest artists to put their creativity to work and help make their mark on the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

Students in Grades 4 to 6 are invited to design the official 2026 Municipal and School Board Election “I Voted” sticker. The winning artwork will be printed and handed out to voters at the Town’s in-person voting locations, giving one local student the chance to create a little piece of East Gwillimbury election history.
This contest is a hands-on opportunity to engage some of East Gwillimbury’s youngest residents and show that democracy is more than something you learn about in a textbook, it’s something that has a real impact on the parks, trails, roads and events in our community. It’s a fun way for students and families to learn about local government, elections, and discover that you’re never too young to make your mark!

Here’s how it works:

Who: Students in Grades 4 to 6 who live in East Gwillimbury and/or attend School in East Gwillimbury
What: Create an original “I Voted” sticker design
Deadline October 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

Town staff will review eligible entries and select three finalist designs. The finalists will be featured on the Town’s official Instagram and Facebook accounts, where the community will be invited to vote for their favourite design. The design that receives the most votes will become the official 2026 Municipal and School Board Election “I Voted” sticker.

The winning student will also be recognized by the Town and receive a prize from an EG business.

Students can create their artwork by hand or digitally. Designs must be original, family-friendly and include the words “I Voted.” Copyrighted images, logos and trademarks are not permitted.
Parent or guardian permission is required, and entries can be submitted electronically by email at communications@eastgwillimbury.ca, or in-person at the following locations:

• Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street, Sharon)
• Health and Active Living Plaza (160 Jim Mortson Drive, East Gwillimbury)
• Elections Team at community engagement booth
