Our website screen on laptops and mobile device screens

The Town of East Gwillimbury is excited to share the official launch of its new municipal website! The website, which remains available at www.eastgwillimbury.ca was developed over the last year based on feedback gathered from our residents, Council, and staff.

The new site focuses on creating a more user-focused, mobile-friendly platform that better connects residents to information on Town programs, services, and events in an engaging way. It provides enhanced tools for residents to better connect with Town information, which is required now more than ever in a heavily digital world.

“As we continue to modernize our municipal services, having an up-to-date website will be a critical piece of ensuring we are delivering services to residents in the manner they are looking for,” says Mayor Virginia Hackson. “We are also fortunate that the associated costs for this website upgrade were paid for through a municipal modernization grant provided by the Provincial government. There was no cost to our taxpayers for this much needed upgrade.”

The website features a fresh modern look with refreshed content. With the assistance of an enhanced search engine tool, visitors will find what they are looking for in a fast and efficient manner. The content is organized in a directory style format under the headings of Living in EG, Government, and Municipal Services. Visitors will also find a new Contact Us feature built out on every page, that will allow them to contact the appropriate department for additional information as required.

Following the launch of the site, the Town is excited to continue modernizing our processes and will be rolling out an eCommerce feature to allow residents to make online credit card payments later this year.

In March 2019, the province announced a one-time investment of $200 million for 405 of Ontario’s small and rural municipalities to improve local service delivery and efficiency. East Gwillimbury received $725,000 in grant funding, which was used to fund this project, in addition to many other modernization initiatives such as an Economic Development microsite which will be launched in June.

Visitors of the Town’s new website are encouraged to share their thoughts on the new site, by using the Website Feedback link found in the footer located at the bottom of every page.
