Public Notices

Coyote Safety

If you encounter a coyote, keep your distance and keep pets on a leash. If the coyote is aggressive:

  1. Stop and pick up small children and pets.
  2. Shout loudly, wave your arms high in the air or use whistles.
  3. Back away slowly while remaining calm.
  4. Never run or turn your back on a coyote.

To learn more about how to deal with coyotes, please call the Ministry of Natural Resources at 905-713-7400 or www.ontario.ca/coyotes. If the coyote poses an immediate threat to public safety, please call 911.

Additional Yard Waste Collection

An additional week of yard waste collection will take place from November 30 to December 3 on your regular collection day. You may place leaves and seasonal decor, including pumpkins, straw or cornstalks out with your yard waste. For more information, visit our Garbage, Recycling, Green Bin and Yard Waste page.

Lymantria Dispar Dispar (LDD/Gypsy Moth) Egg Masses

As you are cleaning up your gardens and yards for winter, make sure you are checking for LDD egg masses! LDD egg masses are oval in shape, tan in colour and fuzzy in texture. They tend to be on tree trunks and on the underside of branches and leaves. To reduce the LDD caterpillar population and damage done next year, it is important to remove these egg masses now. Visit our LDD: Protect Your Trees page for step-by-step instructions and tips.

Let's Get Ready For Winter Parking!

Keeps roads safe this season!

  • Do follow the three-hour parking limit on all Town roads.
  • Do complete a parking consideration form for temporary parking relief from the three hour limit.
  • Don’t park on the road if it is snowing.
  • Don’t overhang onto the curb, road or sidewalk when parking on a driveway.

Visit our Parking page for more information on parking in EG, and to fill out the parking consideration form.

Fire Safety Tip

Did you know you can’t see, smell, taste, or hear Carbon Monoxide (CO)? Having a CO alarm in your home, outside of all sleeping areas can save your life and prevent dangerous situations from happening. To learn more about #COsafety, visit http://ow.ly/HUM650GMy3A
