The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) recently upgraded the crosswalk at the Civic Centre front entrance (19000 Leslie Street) with a new design that features Lest We Forget artwork.

The location was chosen next to the cenotaph where the Remembrance Day ceremony is held. The design honours the bravery and courage for those that served, fought and gave their lives for Canada. This project was approved by Council in 2025.

The front entrance to the Civic Centre will also feature Remembrance Day themed banners for 2025. Town staff are currently working with the East Gwillimbury Public Library and the Canadian War Museum to potentially add custom Remembrance Day banners in the future that will specifically honour past East Gwillimbury residents that served our country.

Remembrance Day will be held at the East Gwillimbury Civic Centre front entrance at the cenotaph on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
