Parks Improvement Project

East Gwillimbury (EG) is excited to celebrate the start of summer with various parks and trail openings throughout town. This season, we’re celebrating the completion of new pickleball and beach volleyball courts, playground equipment and the Simcoe Trail, and expanded parking for Nokiidaa Trail.

We invite our community to join us at these events to explore these new spaces, gather with neighbours and experience the beautiful outdoors in EG.

Save the dates and plan to join EG Mayor Virginia Hackson and Members of Council, staff, the project team, and community for:

  • Nokiidaa Trail Parking Lot Expansion – June 17, 2025, at 8:45 a.m.
  • Mount Albert Lions Beach Volleyball Court – July 1, 2025, at 6 p.m.
  • Brownhill Park – July 21, 2025, at 9 a.m.
  • North Union Park - July 21, 2025, at 10 a.m.
  • Sharon Hills Pickleball Court – July 22, 2025, at 8:45 a.m.
  • Simcoe Trail – July 24, 2025, at 11 a.m.

All events will include an official ribbon-cutting and photo opportunity for the media.

“We’re excited to welcome summer with these new additions and improvements to East Gwillimbury’s parks and trails,” said Mayor Virginia Hackson. “Our community values outdoor spaces that bring people together and celebrate the natural beauty of our town. These facilities show our commitment to creating vibrant places where everyone can connect, play, and explore. I invite all residents to join the celebrations and enjoy everything EG has to offer.”
