East Gwillimbury Council and children at the official opening of Cupples Farm Park

Cupples Farm Park located in the Oxford Homes development is the Town’s tenth park opening of the summer. The new place to play features beautiful views, junior/senior playground structures, adult fitness equipment, a half basketball court, shade structure, and open turf play area. A new 700-meter trail will be constructed through the Town’s open space during the fall and winter months. The trail will be located between Cupples Farm Park and the stormwater management pond.

“I am very excited to open this much-anticipated park in East Gwillimbury,” said Mayor Virginia Hackson. “A lot of time, effort, and creativity went into building this park which is reflected in the many included features and equipment. I look forward to seeing Cupples Farm Park completed with the planned inclusion of the new trail.”

Cupples Farm Park cost $700,000 to build and was funded entirely through development charges. Once the Town collects development charges, the Parks team plans, designs, and oversees the construction of new parks and trails. Development charges fund parks, trails, roads, and facilities, which are all key pieces in building a complete community.

Residents are invited to join the Town for its next park opening at Beechwood Park on September 14 at 11:30 a.m. To learn more about EG’s Summer of Parks, visit the Parks page.
