The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) is inviting residents to celebrate Earth Day all month long with a variety of community events focused on environmental stewardship, creativity, and connection to nature.
From community cleanups to hands-on workshops and a guided nature walk, there are many ways for residents of all ages to get involved.

Participate in the events below to help celebrate Earth Day:

Community Cleanup Program
Join the Town’s organized cleanup at the Civic Centre. Groups can also pick up supplies during the event to host a cleanup at a different location or on a different day.

  • Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Location: Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street)

Earth Day Flag Raising
Mark Earth Day with a special flag raising ceremony recognizing the importance of environmental action.

  • Date: Wednesday, April 22
  • Time: 11:30 a.m.
  • Location: Flagpole Garden – Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street)

The Art of Upcycling Workshop
A fun, family-friendly workshop where participants can turn everyday reusable items into creative art projects.

  • Date: Saturday, April 25
  • Time: 1:30 to 4 p.m.
  • Location: East Gwillimbury Public Library Queensville Branch (160 Jim Mortson Drive)

Guided Nature Walk and Native Plant Giveaway
Join a guided walk to explore local natural features and reflect on Indigenous teachings about respect and connection to the land. Free native seeds and tree seedlings will be available during the event.

  • Date: Saturday, May 2
  • Time: 11 a.m.
  • Location: Nokiidaa Trail – Mount Albert Road and Yonge Street
