The Town of East Gwillimbury announces the retirement of Thomas R. Webster, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

On behalf of Mayor Virginia Hackson and Council, the Town of East Gwillimbury extends its appreciation for Mr. Webster’s outstanding public service to the Town of East Gwillimbury. As Tom begins a well-deserved retirement, the Town takes this opportunity to recognize the tremendous contribution by Tom to public service over the past 35 years. The Town wishes to acknowledge Tom’s 18-year tenure as the Town of East Gwillimbury’s Chief Administrative Officer.

During Tom’s tenure as Chief Administrative Officer, his notable accomplishments include leading the Town to operate debt-free, achieving the lowest tax rates in York Region, serving as the catalyst for the Health and Active Living Plaza, and leading a team that has been recognized both nationally and provincially. The Town is grateful for Tom’s leadership and the contributions made to the Town’s development and progress.

Throughout his distinguished career, Tom put the Town’s interests first. The Town expresses its sincere appreciation for Tom’s dedication to serve his community.

Deputy CAO, Mark Valcic will assume the role of Acting CAO.
