The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) is proud to announce that our Finance department has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAFR) for the seventh consecutive year in a row by the Government of Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Road Closures: Mount Albert Sports Day 5K Run/Walk

Road closures will be in effect as part of the Mount Albert Sports Day event. Main Street will be closed from noon on June 5 until 6 p.m. on June 7 between Victoria Street and the driveway of the Twisted Fork.

In addition to the weekend closure, the following roads will be closed on June 6 from 7:30 to10 a.m. for the Sports Day 5K Run/Walk:

  • Main St.
  • Centre St. (from Main St to just past Doane Rd.),
  • King St. (from Centre St. to Main St.)

East Gwillimbury Approves New All-Way Stop to Improve Safety on King Street East

After hearing resident feedback and conducting a traffic safety review, a new all-way stop was installed at the intersection of King Street East and Viscount Way/Hammill Heights.

The Town completed a traffic safety review on King Street East to analyze traffic habits in the area. The study looked at how many vehicles use King Street East each day, how fast they drive, and whether current traffic controls are working as intended.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to join in meaningful, inclusive programming that celebrates the diversity, cultures, and contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and Indigenous Peoples.
