Effective April 1, 2021, the Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) will be transitioning all customers billed on a quarterly basis, to monthly billing. Water meters will also be read monthly.

Benefits of monthly billing for customers

  • Smaller and more consistent bill amounts
  • Consumption is monitored more frequently, and benefits include:
    • Detecting potential leaks in the household earlier; saving water and money
    • Ability to monitor user habits and high fluctuations in usage

How will the transition to monthly billing happen?

Water and Sewer bills in EG were previously billed every three months, as follows:

  • Holland Landing: January, April, July & October

  • Sharon & Mount Albert: February, May, August & November

  • River Drive Park, Harvest Hills & Queensville: March, June, September & December

The transition to Monthly billing will begin in the month of April, all customers will receive a bill:

All customers will be billed monthly in May which will cover any fixed charges and usage accumulated between April 1, 2021 and April 30, 2021.

Will the due date on my bill change?

Yes, transitioning to monthly billing will result in a change of due date beginning in April. Bills will now be due on the last business day of the month, rather then the 20th of the month.

What should I expect if I am enrolled in the pre-authorized payment plan?

If you were previously enrolled in our quarterly pre-authorized payment plan prior to the transition, and did not provide consent to move to monthly, please complete our new pre-authorized payment plan-water and sewer form to re-enroll and email it to our Water Billing Department.

If you wish to discontinue your pre-authorized payment plan at any time, please complete the property tax and water/sewer stop/change form and email it to our Tax and Water Services Department.

How do I sign up for pre-authorized payment?

The Town of EG offers two pre-authorized payment plans for the payment of water and sewer bills.

  • Option One (PAP)
    • The full billed amount would be withdrawn on the bill due date (monthly).
  • Option Two (EPP)
    • An estimated annual usage is determined and divided by 12 monthly payments. Withdrawals will occur on the 19th of each month.

To enroll, please complete our pre-authorized payment plan-water and sewer form  and email it to our Water Billing Department.

Can I view my bills online?

All residents can now access their water accounts online to:

  • View account balances
  • View account transactions
  • View previous bill(s)
