Post Secondary Attraction

The idea of a post secondary institution in the Town of East Gwillimbury has been around since the development of the Queensville Community Plan in the mid 1980's. More recently, the Town has approved a new Official Plan, which includes employment population growth and the creation of close to 30,000 new jobs by 2031. The Economic Development Strategy for the Town identifies the post-secondary institution as the single most important city-building feature, which will ensure the creation of a complete, balanced and sustainable community. Together with the approval of the Town’s 2013 Business Plan and Budget, Council has passed a specific resolution in January, which reaffirms and states the Town’s unwavering commitment to securing a post-secondary institution in East Gwillimbury as a key priority for the Town.
