Paying your Water and Sewer Bills
The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) offers multiple options for paying your water and sewer bill. Please consider processing times when making payments close to due dates to avoid late payment charges.
Change mailing address
As the registered property owner, you can update your mailing address at any time to make sure you are receiving your water/sewer bills. Please fill out our change of address form.
Online account access to water accounts
Residents can now register to access water bills online via the Town’s online portal. This safe and secure online portal will allow residents to:
- View account balances
- View account transactions
- View previous bills
- Receive bills via email
- Pay online*
* A service charge by the credit card processing company, independent of the Town, will be charged.
To set-up your account, find your 5-digit access code on your water or tax bills and click below to log in!
To set up your account, please have your utility bill handy. You will need your account number and a 5-digit pin number located below the billing date (on your bill) to set up your account.
Follow these steps to set up/link your online accounts:
- Visit the Online Portal.
- Select the “Show Me How” button located in the box below the “Login” button.
- Using the drop-down menu, select the account type you’d like to add to your account.
- Fill in the required information from your bill, including your account number or roll and 5-digit pin number. If you’d like to receive bills via email or through the portal, please select the appropriate option and verify your email.
- Once complete, select save.
- The next step will ask you to create a username and password. Type in your username and password and hit save. Please do not use your email address as your username. You will now have access to view your accounts online.

Interest and penalty on your water and sewer bill
The Town charges a penalty of 1.25% per month on outstanding water/sewer. This penalty is charged once monthly in compliance with the Municipal Act, 2001. Please note, penalty is not charged on penalty. If you did not receive your water/sewer bill, please contact customer service. Failure to receive a water/sewer bill does not exempt the bill from being due or exempt the taxpayer from incurring late payment charges.
How to pay your water/sewer bill

The Town of East Gwillimbury offers 2 PAP options for the payment of your water/sewer bills.
- Option #1- PAP the full billed amount is withdrawn on the bill due date, 12 times per year.
- Option #2- Equal Payment Plan the monthly withdrawal amount is established based on your previous bill history. A minimum of one year of billing history is required to enroll in this plan. Withdrawals will occur on the 19th of each month.
To join our PAP, please fill out the pre-authorized payment form (water/sewer) and email it to our Water Billing Department.
To cancel your PAP plan, or change your banking information on your existing plan, please fill out the property tax and water/sewer bill stop/change form, and email it to our Tax and Water Services Department.
You can set the Town up as a payee through your online banking and make bill payments at your convenience. Most chartered banks have the payee name listed as East Gwillimbury water or East Gwillimbury utilities.

If you have complications finding the payee, please contact your bank directly.
- Payments can be made by cash, cheque, or direct debit in person at the Civic Centre. Cheques are payable to the Town of East Gwillimbury, please include your account number on the subject line for reference. Credit card payments can be processed via the online portal only and will incur an additional fee, charged by the service provider.
- You also have the option to drop off a cheque payment along with your water/sewer payment stub in our secure locked drop box located at the front office entrance of the Civic Centre.
