ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/RECEPTIONIST
Community Programs Infrastructure
$38,913 to 45,780 per annum
Reporting directly to the Senior Administrative Assistant, Community Programs Infrastructure, the Administrative Assistant position is responsible for main reception, counter and telephone customer care (inquiries/complaints); database implementation and management of all incoming inquiries, complaints, etc. for all areas of CPI (including prompt attention to tracking/follow-up under new DWQMS requirements); responding to emergency situations; administrative support on an “as required” basis for the department directors and managers, in coordination with the existing departmental Administrative Assistant, i.e. tenders, reports, budgets, presentations, etc.; preparing various infrastructure installation and road occupancy permits and associated fees collection; coordinating meter reads and streetlight repairs as required; tracking and distributing departmental invoices; fax/courier, research; participating on project teams as assigned.

You have high energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to integrate well into a positive, fast-paced team environment. You’re highly organized with excellent time management skills and are able to work independently, to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines. You possess the ability to demonstrate superior judgment, diplomacy and exceptional decision-making skills.
Post-secondary education in Office Administration or Business/Public Administration is preferrred, as is significant progressive experience in an administrative support role(s), preferably with a working knowledge of public service and local government. Experience in customer care/public relations is necessary. Our successful candidate will also have excellent computer skills and be proficient in all software programs within the MS Office suite, and able to use the internet as a research tool.
