Public Skating Information

Outdoor Ice Surfaces 

East Gwillimbury (EG) staff operate and maintain two outdoor ice rinks during the winter season. You can find one in Holland Landing at Ridgeview Park (16 Pear Blossom Way)links to external site and one in Mount Albert at the Mount Albert Community Centre (53 Main Street)links to external site. Rinks are subject to weather conditions.

Ridge View Park Opens as of Friday January 22, 2021 

Registration for Ridge View will open Thursday January 21 at 9 a.m. for skate times from Friday, January 22 to Monday, January 25.

Please Note: Due to damage to the ice, MACC is still undergoing preparations for opening and requires an additional 2.5 cm of ice to open. It is anticipated that with additional floods registration for MACC will open next week.

COVID-19 Safety Rules and Regulations 

Skating Rink Hours of Operations are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Ice Surfaces are not to be used outside operating hours and will be monitored by Town staff. 

Registration will open every Monday at 9 a.m. for both Ridge View and MACC for the following Tuesday until the following Monday ice times. 

Each member of the family must be registered with confirmation. Be prepared to show staff a printed copy of your receipt or receipt via phone upon arrival. Please be on time for your session. 

  • Masks must be worn at all times by all ages; while preparing to go on the ice, while skating on the ice and while leaving the facility after your skate
  • If you or anyone from your family is presenting signs and/or symptoms of COVID-19 you are not permitted to participate in this activity
  • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a guardian/parent who is 16+ years old, and they must be registered even if they are not going on the ice. 

    *Registered Parents/guardians that are not going on the ice must remain on the seating area provided for supervision. 
  • Registration is open to EG residents only at this time, and a maximum of 1 time slot, per household, per day
  • Skating sessions are 45-minute time slots and rink capacity is 25 per timeslot
  • You may only register for one time slot per day

  • Booking your skate time is for immediate household members only (up to 5 members); booking with members outside of your household is considered a gathering, which is prohibited at this time

  • Each member of the family must be registered with confirmation
  • Waitlist is not maintained, and no walk ins will be accepted at this time to avoid gatherings
  • Physical distancing from other groups must be observed at all times on ice and while in the park area
  • All participants will be screened prior to accessing the skating enclosure
  • Helmets are strongly recommended, and shinny is not permitted
  • No chairs or strollers allowed on the ice surface
  • For safety, anyone not following rules or staff direction will be asked to leave

Indoor Public Skating

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Sports Complex remains closed to the public. Currently, indoor public skating is on hold until further notice. Additional updates will be shared once available.
