Town Wide Litter Clean Up

Every Spring, communities across Canada participate in Town Wide Clean Ups. You can do your part and help collect litter from residential areas, parks, open spaces and boulevards. Not only will this environmental initiative make East Gwillimbury look beautiful, it will allow our community to come together and show all of Canada that we care.

How you can help:

Join our Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) to clean up Anchor Park, visit with local green vendors and environmental organizations this Earth Day! 

Invite family and friends from to join us from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect trash and debris in our beautiful park. To celebrate a great day together a BBQ lunch will be hosted by the Holland Landing's Lion Club for those who participate in the clean up, the BBQ will also be available at a cost for those who wish to stop by.

This year's event will also include a textile recycling station and exhibitor fair where you can learn more about recycling and living a greener life style. Textile donations can be 
items that are worn, torn or stained. All items need to be dry and free of any hazardous liquids such as grease or oils.

The following textiles can be collected: 

  • Clothing and shoes (Adults, children and babies)
  • Accessories (purses, belts, hats and shoes)
  • Household items ( bedding, towels, curtains, pillows and sleeping bags) 

Spread the word to friends and neighbours; anyone and everyone are welcome to help with this important annual event.
