In a continued effort to protect the community and stop the spread of COVID-19, all Town facilities, including the Civic Centre, community centres, libraries and recreational spaces will remain closed until further notice. Marriage Licence

A Marriage Licence is valid for use anywhere in Ontario for a period of 90 days from the date of issue.

Marriage Licence Applications are available online and from Customer Service at the Civic Centre.

The Marriage Licence Application must be completed and signed by both applicants. Either one or both applicants may bring in the completed application and 2 pieces of government-issued identification (driver’s licence, passport etc.) for both applicants.  One piece of identification for each applicant must be photo identification.

If an applicant was divorced within Canada, you will need to bring the original or a court-certified copy of one of the following documents: the final decree; the final judgment; a certificate of divorce.

If an applicant was divorced outside of Canada, please refer to the ServiceOntario website for requirements.

An appointment is required. To book an appointment, please contact Customer Service at 905-478-4282.

For the appointment you must bring:
1. Payment for the Marriage Licence of $137.00 payable by cash, cheque, bank draft, money order, credit card or     debit card.
2. A completed Marriage Licence Application; signed by both applicants
3. Required identification for both applicants
4. Proof of divorce, if required
