Thinking Green! Sustainability Strategy
The Town of East Gwillimbury has established a Thinking Green! Sustainability Strategy to provide direction for environmental initiatives and programs in the community. Developing the Thinking Green! Sustainability Strategy has been a key initiative for Council. It establishes the framework for all projects and plans to be undertaken by the Town’s environmental movement. The approach is predicated on East Gwillimbury’s overall commitment to protect the environment, enhance economic prosperity and improve the health and lifestyle of our community.
Since 2007, the Town has been pushing forward with its community and corporate sustainability plan and strategy. The Town's evolving programs and initiatives in sustainability continue to be well received by residents and businesses, leading to national, provincial and local recognition awards from the Ontario Power Authority, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Greater Toronto Area Clean Air Council.
