Training Branch

The Training Branch is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of training program needed for firefighters. Personnel assist with the development of standard operating guidelines/procedures in accordance with current and future fire service issues and all applicable legislation. Assist operation in firefighting. Evaluate new technology and emergency responses. Training remains a vital part of the fire departments normal activity to maintain a state of operational readiness. With the wide array of situations to which the department is called to respond, it is imperative that all members of the department remain current in the areas of firefighting, rescue, automatic external defibrillation, CPR, and basic life support. Training reflects the diversity of the emergencies we respond to. In addition to the basic firefighting skills learned and continually trained on, specific skills are needed for specialty/technical incidents.
